Here is what I know regarding the Carney Family of Ulster County New York
 

James Carney (both parents born in NY) and Unknown wife of Ulster County NY in the New Paltz area,  had a least one daughter by the name of Jane Carney.  Jane was born about 1836
She married the "boy next door"  Thomas McDermott.
Thomas McDermott was born about 1834  to the parents of John McDermott (born 1805) and Margaret (born 1812).

Together Jane and Thomas McDermott gave birth to many children. One of which was
Abraham P McDermott
    Born Aug 17 1866 in Napanoch NY
    Married:  ~1893
    Died: Feb 10 1955  Infirmary : Newburgh NY

Abraham P McDermott Married Mary McNamara (born: @1909 to parents: John McNamara and Mary/Margaret Doyle)  Died: Aug 1 1910, Newburgh NY

Abraham and Mary had many children. One of which was John Joseph McDermott

    Born: Oct 10 1895
    Newark NJ
    Married: April 01 1922
    Died: Jan 02 1955  at Rosary Hill Cancer Home; Hawthorne NY

John Joseph McDermott Married Margaret Mary (Mae) Haley
Together John and Margaret had many children ( 2 have passed away and many are still living with tons of grandchildren and great grandchildren)

New York City NY        ( I heard something about 333rd st)
Died: July 07 1953 at Home
27 Benkard Ave, Newbugh NY

Margaret Mary Haley was born to  Patrick Haley( Died: @ 1910 NYC) and Mary Ann Connolly (died: March 27 1947, at Liberty St Newburgh NY)
